First Line Manager

Here at GXO, we’re currently recruiting for a First Line Manager to join our team in Northampton. You will provide hands‑on leadership to our warehouse teams, driving performance, productivity and service across stock operation.
These are full‑time, permanent roles, working any 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Take full responsibility for shift performance, leading and directing warehouse operatives to ensure productivity, accuracy and service levels are consistently achieved
- Monitor and analyse team performance using operational systems (such as WMS and reporting tools), identifying trends and implementing actions to improve efficiency and output
- Lead, coach and develop your team through regular engagement, including 1‑2‑1s, performance reviews and training plans, building a high‑performance and engaged workforce
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards, promoting a safety‑first culture through visible leadership and adherence to all procedures and policies
- Drive continuous improvement activities across the operation, identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance performance and reduce risk
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven leadership experience within a warehouse, fulfilment or outbound environment
- Ability to coach, develop and motivate teams to deliver high performance
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good understanding of warehouse processes and system usage
- Calm, organised approach with excellent attention to detail
