Transport Shift Manager

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager to join our team in Northampton, supporting our customer Wickes. As a Transport Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day leadership of drivers and transport operations to ensure safe, compliant and high performing service delivery across the contract.
This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working a Tuesday to Saturday, 05:00 till 13:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and develop the transport team to deliver operational excellence while ensuring legal compliance across all transport activities
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiative to enhance efficiency and reduce cost
- Work closely with the Transport Managers, Lead Drivers and Driver Trainers to ensure that colleagues and agencies are trained in company procedure, policies and Health and Safety
- Complete employee relations actions, including disciplinaries, grievance, absence management and performance reviews
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience in a transport or fleet management role
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, drivers’ hours and compliance requirements
- Confident people management skills with the ability to lead, engage and challenge teams
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Holder of an International CPC is advantageous
