As the Senior Director, Solutions Innovation, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing automation, technology, and labor management solutions that align with cost savings and productivity opportunities across the North America region. In this role, you will lead regional innovation strategy, solution standardization, and scalable deployments across our warehouse operations. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Identify and assess automation, technology, and labor management solutions that align with operational cost savings and productivity opportunities across the North America warehouse network
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and finance teams to build business cases for automation investments
- Lead the design and deployment of scalable pilots and full-scale regional implementations across automation, technology, and process innovation initiatives
- Own and lead the rollout of a Labor Management System across North America, including implementation strategy, adoption, governance, and performance tracking
- Lead vendor management negotiations to provide the best cost structure and results for GXO
- Develop and maintain a regional roadmap of innovation initiatives aligned with strategic business goals
- Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors to ensure best-in-class solutions are considered
- Establish and track KPIs to measure the impact of implemented solutions on cost, productivity, and service
- Create frameworks for site-level innovation assessments, regional solution standardization, and scalable deployment playbooks
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to uncover pain points and ideate innovative solutions
- Partner with IT, data, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of automation and labor management systems with existing platforms
- Support change management and training efforts to ensure successful adoption of new technologies
What you need to succeed:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- 10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, industrial automation, operational technology or military experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing automation, technology, or labor management solutions across warehouse or distribution environments
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, cost drivers, and ROI modeling
- Experience managing cross-functional projects with measurable performance outcomes
- Experience owning or supporting the rollout of a Labor Management System, including standards development, change management, adoption, and performance measurement
- Familiarity with automation technologies such as robotics, AS/RS, conveyor systems, AGVs, and labor management platforms
It’d be great if you also have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS), order routing, and process optimization
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- Vendor management and contract negotiation experience
- Passion for innovation and a strong sense of curiosity
