As the Senior Industrial Engineer, 3PL Warehousing Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for leading process improvement, labor productivity, facility optimization and operational excellence initiatives across warehouse operations. In this role, you will analyze performance data, identify improvement opportunities, standardize best practices and partner with operations leaders to deliver measurable savings, improved service levels and scalable process improvements. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across 3PL warehouse operations to improve productivity, quality, safety, service and cost performance
  • Analyze operational data, labor performance, workflow constraints and facility layouts to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
  • Develop, validate and maintain engineered labor standards, work methods and productivity targets for warehouse processes
  • Partner with operations, inventory, quality, safety and IT teams to implement sustainable process improvements and standard work
  • Facilitate kaizen events, value stream mapping, time studies and other Lean tools to reduce waste and improve throughput
  • Support facility layout changes, slotting improvements, labor planning and material flow optimization based on business volume and customer requirements
  • Track project benefits, savings, performance improvements and adoption of new processes to ensure measurable business impact

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 4 years of industrial engineering, continuous improvement or operations engineering experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics or a related environment
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies to improve operational performance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, data analysis and performance reporting tools

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, APICS or similar certification
  • Third-Party Logistics (3PL) warehousing or multi-customer distribution experience
  • Experience developing engineered labor standards, conducting time studies and improving warehouse work methods
  • Experience with analytical tools such as flowcharts, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, run charts, value stream maps and root cause analysis
  • Project leadership experience with demonstrated ability to deliver measurable productivity, quality, safety or cost improvements
