HR Advisor P/T

Here at GXO, we are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team in Runcorn.
You’ll report directly to the Regional HR Manager and will be responsible for providing comprehensive generalist HR support to line managers across the site. You’ll work in partnership with operational leaders to deliver effective people management solutions and ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently. In line with business requirements, you may also be required to provide HR support across other sites or operational areas as needed.

You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the People agenda with key focus on culture change, talent and process improvement. 

 

This is a part‑time, permanent, site-based position, working 24 hours a week over 3 days. We are flexible which days these are, to suit you and the business need.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £25,000.00 per annum, and 15 days annual leave (plus bank holidays – pro rata). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Build harmonious relationships with the site teams and Trade Union to ensure optimum working efficiency
  • Provide full HR generalist support and advice to Managers and employees - ensuring a current knowledge of employee legislation and employee relation issues is maintained to ensure the business area remains compliant and risk is mitigated.  Take the lead on complex ER issues
  • Take the lead on the management of absence, including making recommendations, giving advice/coaching and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, supporting with health review meetings, and other absence related meetings
  • Drive and promote Employee Engagement and Health & Wellbeing initiatives
  • To assist in the design and delivery of development workshops in areas of HR best practice, to enhance knowledge and skills across the site

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Ideally qualification of CIPD Level 3 or working towards with a good understanding of employment law
  • Experience of undertaking a broad range of tasks including working with and advising line managers on employee relations issues and being involved in setting up processes and systems
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Strong in systems; HRIS, Microsoft Office such as word and Excel
  • Experienced in working with Trade Unions - desirable
