Teamleader Inventory Control

We are recruiting for an Inventory Control Teamleader for our site in Schiphol- Rijk, Amsterdam.

You are constantly managing and motivating your team, you also strive for process improvements. You are responsible for the appraisal and coaching of your employees and you guide them through processes. You are responsible for processes, quality and productivity numbers and you coordinate operational activities within your department. You are also involved in setting up a sharp staffing and you ensure proper time registration. 

As a Teamleader you are responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the Inventory Control department with a particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans, Returns or Quality. You report to the Supervisor. 

Excellent opportunity for someone within a similar role or maybe some leadership expereince ready to take the next step into a more senior position.

 

What you do on a typical day

  • Manage team performance; develop associates by providing training and coaching;
  • Instruct, inform and support the employees of the department, so that the work is carried out safely, efficiently and correctly, in accordance with the applicable standards (including KPI’s and productivities).
  • Maintain a safe work environment with a positive team dynamic
  • Lead start-up activities with cross functional teams
  • Make recommendations regarding new hires, terminating contracts, performance evaluations and promotions;
  • Ensure that documents work instructions of processes are up to date and are being followed by the department;
  • Continually strive to improve the processes of your department.
  • Setting up a sharp staffing planning.


What need to succeed at GXO

  • You have at least MBO (post-secondary college) level of work and thinking, where necessary additional relevant diplomas and certificates for the department.
  • You have at least three years of experience in a similar position, ideally with logistics/warehousing.
  • You have good communication skills at multiple levels in English (Dutch language is a nice to have).
  • Good analytical mindset, with the ability to report to customers 
  • You have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude and you have a self-starting ability.
  • You have good knowledge of office software and WMS functionality.
