HR Manager

We’re seeking an experienced, people-focused HR Manager to join our Kraft Heinz contract in Wigan—someone who thrives on partnering with leaders, building strong employee and industrial relations, and driving continuous improvement.
Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you’ll support and influence site leadership teams on all HR matters, lead and develop a small team, and play a key role in delivering contract success through engaged, high-performing people—ideally bringing proven experience in union environments and pay negotiations. This is a Monday to Friday role however flexibility is a must – this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £53,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Deliver a high-quality, end-to-end HR service, providing both strategic and operational support to site leaders
- Coach and guide managers on policies, employee relations, performance, and complex cases (disciplinary, absence, and family leave)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Trade Unions and key stakeholders, supporting engagement and negotiations
- Lead and develop a small HR team while driving recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and engagement initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement through data, KPIs, change management (including restructures/TUPE), and people-focused initiatives
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven HR leadership experience, ideally within a supply chain or operational environment
- Strong track record of leading complex change, including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE
- Data-driven approach, using people metrics to improve performance, attendance, and retention
- Skilled at building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- CIPD Level 5+ (or equivalent) with expertise in complex ER case management and a passion for engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion
