Transport Planner

We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our team in Snetterton. Working within a small team, you will be driving efficiency and reducing cost delivering excellent service to our customer. You’ll be responsible for route planning, along with developing & managing real relationships with customers and drivers. You’ll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.
You’ll work on a Monday – Friday basis, between the hours of 8am to 5pm, however, some flexibility is required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,990.00 and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Provide final route plans to the warehouse operation within the agreed timescale to allow for picking in a timely manner
- Ensure that the legislation regarding EU Drivers hours regulations is being followed
- Deal with customer issues and monitor drivers daily progress, updating the customer as required
- Ensure that the sub-contractor costs are in line with our agreed rates ensuring that the maximum benefit is being secured and that any subcontractor financial queries are resolved in a timely manner
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Experience of working as a Transport Planner or similar operational role, performing route planning with strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Knowledge of WTD regulations is essential
- Proficient use of Microsoft and experience of using a transport planning tool
- Strong communicator both written and verbal with attention to detail
