Maintenance Engineer | Swindon | Iceland

Are you an experienced Engineer? Have you had exposure to electrical, mechanical and refrigeration repairs in a warehouse/industrial environment? If so, then we might have the role for you!

 

Here at GXO, we’re currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join us on our multi-temperature Iceland site in Swindon. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day tasks around the site’s facilities are completed and that all repairs are carried out in a compliant, timely and cost-effective manner.

 

This is a full time, permanent position where you’ll be working any 5 days out of 7. This is a 24/7 site, therefore you will need to be flexible to cover all shifts, this is logistics after all! The role will also involve call outs!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £38,600 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • To ensure that the office, depot and associated facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards at all times and that the building infrastructure and fabric are robustly protected and cared for, including the operation of ancillary equipment
  • Work within the department on both planned and reactive maintenance
  • Monitoring/maintenance of large industrial ammonia refrigeration plants, ensuring that plant is available and maintained to optimum performance levels at all times
  • Maintaining documentation to ensure company legal compliance

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • The job demands knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, and a knowledge of all aspects of current Health and Safety, Control of Legionnaires Disease and Electricity at Work Act legislation
  • The ability to make decisions on behalf of the company on all preventative and remedial maintenance, with commensurate skills in technical evaluation
  • Initiative, clarity of thought and the ability to resolve problems quickly and accurately
  • An ability to work both individually and as part of a team
