We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Stock Manager who will be responsible for inventory management, inventory accuracy, and continuous optimization of warehouse processes within GXO's logistics environment.
In this role, you will lead the Stock Management team, oversee inventory control processes, optimize warehouse layout and storage capacity, and drive inventory accuracy across all inventory categories.
You will work closely with both the Operations team and the customer to ensure efficient warehouse operations, high service quality, and fulfillment of customer requirements.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Inventory Management & Control
- Ensure inventory accuracy, stock integrity, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Ensure effective management of batch-controlled inventory, expiration dates, and stock traceability requirements.
- Plan and manage regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
- Maintain inventory integrity through effective control processes and procedures.
- Oversee HAZMAT inventory management and storage compliance in cooperation with the Health & Safety department, ensuring safe handling practices and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Warehouse Optimization & Analytics
- Manage warehouse layout and storage strategies to maximize capacity utilization.
- Optimize picking routes and storage locations using ABC analysis, product characteristics, and master data.
- Analyze inventory trends, historical data, and operational KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support inventory planning activities through data analysis, stock profiling, and collaboration with Operations and the customer.
Team Leadership & Improvement
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Inventory team.
- Set priorities, monitor performance, and support professional growth of team members.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Participate in operational projects and process optimization activities.
- Build a culture of inventory ownership, accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the warehouse operation.
Reporting & Customer Cooperation
- Communicate with the customer regarding inventory status and discrepancy resolution.
- Prepare inventory reports, stock reconciliations, root cause analyses, and month-end inventory close activities.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and ensure achievement of agreed targets.
- Support internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
Profile of our ideal candidate:
- Experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or stock management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with WMS and inventory management systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience in data analysis are an advantage.
- Knowledge of HAZMAT inventory control and storage requirements is an advantage.
- Ability to make decisions and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and building effective partnerships with colleagues, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Communicative English is an advantage due to daily cooperation with international colleagues and customers.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
