Transport Administrator

Behind every on-time delivery is a great transport team.

 

We're looking for a Transport Administrator to join our night shift operation at the Iceland Distribution Centre in Livingston. Working behind the scenes, you'll help keep vehicles moving, drivers compliant and customers happy, ensuring products reach stores across the UK. You'll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the transport operation, helping to coordinate deliveries efficiently while maintaining excellent service standards.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering the hours between 06:00 and 18:00.

 What you'll do on a typical day:

 

  • Dispatch drivers and support the successful delivery of the daily transport plan
  • Conduct driver debriefs and ensure all transport paperwork is completed accurately
  • Manage transport administration and maintain up-to-date operational records
  • Monitor and update transport systems, including driver and vehicle information
  • Build strong working relationships with drivers, colleagues and customers
  • Resolve customer queries and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment

 

What you need to succeed at GXO

 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure in a busy transport operation
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team
