Risk Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Manager, Risk Management to support and execute GXO’s global risk management strategy across the Continental Europe (CE) region. This is a high-impact role partnering with regional and functional leaders to protect company assets, optimize insurance programs, and support business growth in a complex and fast-evolving environment.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Risk Management (US-based), you will play a key role in delivering effective risk mitigation solutions, managing insurance programs, and contributing to strategic decision-making across multiple European markets.
Key Responsibilities
Risk & Insurance Management
Lead and support insurance program management for the CE region, including renewals, local placements, and claims management
Ensure cost-effective insurance coverage aligned with GXO’s global strategy
Manage claims processes, including coordination, review, and payment authorization
Risk Strategy Execution
Implement and execute risk management processes across CE operations
Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks in collaboration with regional stakeholders
Drive new initiatives to improve risk management practices and operational resilience
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with internal teams (Operations, Finance, Legal, Treasury, HR) to provide expert risk guidance
Manage relationships with brokers, insurers, and external partners
Support risk-related aspects of site start-ups, integrations, and M&A activities
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives within risk management
Analyse data and identify opportunities for process optimization
Support complex negotiations related to claims and insurance structures
To excel in this role, you'll need:
5–10 years of experience in risk management (logistics industry experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of insurance programs, risk financing, and claims management
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-country environments
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
Education & Languages
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Fluency in English is required
Additional European language (e.g., French, German, Dutch) is a strong advantage
