Warehouse First Line Manager

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Warehouse First Line Manager to join our NHS Supply Chain contract, based in Normanton. You’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of a team of operatives. You’ll provide leadership, motivation, and training to ensure operational effectiveness and that all daily targets are met. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic environment where flexibility, problem-solving, and strong communication skills are essential.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Sunday - Thursday, covering the hours of 22:00 till 06:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,722.52 per annum plus a 30% shift allowance and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Pick items of stock from the pallet racking, shelf or other predetermined area within the warehouse using the available picking methodology i.e. Radio Frequency terminals or picking list, to agreed productivity targets
  • Use the Warehouse management system (RESUS) to assist in the location and retrieval of products
  • Ensure work equipment is in good working order and report any defects
  • Sort loads in the marshalling area and load vehicles
  • Be able to operate, where trained to do so, the necessary warehouse equipment

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experienced in leading successful teams in a complex, fast-moving logistics/warehouse environment
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities
  • Computer literate; experience with WMS systems
  • Capable of driving mechanical handling equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
