Warehouse Operative Nights

Here at GXO Logistics, we are looking for full-time Warehouse Operative Nights to join our Wigan team at Heinz Kraft.

This is a permanent full-time role. You will be working 8 hours shifts, Sunday to Thursday/ Monday to Friday, Nights 22:00 – 06:00

What you will do on a typical day:

  • Carry out loading, unloading and dispatch activities by working with the Dispatch and Goods in Team Leaders to ensure vehicles are loaded/ unloaded accurately and on time, completing all associated paperwork, stock counting and product checks using FLT, ECB and manual handling
  • Complete case picking, pallet movements and stock replenishment to meet customer and assembly deadlines, using warehouse equipment including Counterbalance FLT, Reach Truck, LLOP and radio data terminals, while ensuring stock rotation and accurate order fulfilment
  • Maintain high operational, quality and safety standards by following Health & Safety, HACCP and Quality procedures, keeping work areas clean and organised, and ensuring safe working practices at all times
  • Support continuous improvement and business initiatives by participating in Lean Six Sigma projects, IMPACT values and standards, Learning & Development Framework (LDF/ NVQ) activities, and contributing to operational improvements

What you need to success at GXO:

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution centre environment, including order picking, loading/unloading vehicles, stock counting, and inventory control
  • Skilled in using warehouse systems and equipment, including WMS, SAP, handheld scanners, FLT, Reach Truck, Counterbalance, and LLOP
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and contribute positively to team objectives
  • Flexible, reliable, and adaptable, with the ability to perform a variety of tasks, including manual handling, in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to achieving targets, taking ownership, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of Health & Safety
