Network Payroll Officer

GXO is currently looking for a Network Payroll Officer to join our B&Q retail network in Worksop, during an exciting period of integration and transformation. This is a critical role, responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and on‑time payroll across multiple distribution sites.
This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. The hours of work are 37.5 per week, 5 days per week, predominantly Monday to Friday, office hours. Some flexibility will be required; this is logistics after al!

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Owning payroll delivery across the network, ensuring 100% on‑time and highly accurate payroll processing
- Validating and reconciling payroll data including hours, overtime, shift premiums, absences, holiday pay, starters, and leavers
- Acting as the first point of contact for payroll queries from sites and stakeholders
- Partnering with site leaders to drive consistency in payroll processes, timelines, and standards
- Training and supporting managers and admin teams on timekeeping systems and payroll requirements
- Maintaining payroll SOPs, audit trails, and supporting internal and external audits
- Analysing payroll trends and errors to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience in payroll processing within a high‑volume, multi‑site operational environment
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements and confidence using payroll and time & attendance systems
- Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy
- Ability to communicate payroll information clearly to non‑technical stakeholders, calm, organised, and resilient under pressure
- Payroll qualification (CIPP Level 3 or above) is desirable but not essential
